The Hub is a marketplace for students at a single school to buy and sell items and message each other. This policy explains what we collect and why. The Hub never handles money — buyers and sellers settle in person.
What we collect
- Account info you give us: your school email, name, and optional dorm and bio.
- Content you create: your listings (including photos) and the messages you send.
- Safety signals: reports you file and users you block.
- Basic technical data needed to run the app (e.g. a user ID and login session).
How we use it
- To run the marketplace — show your listings and profile to other students at your school, and deliver your messages.
- To confirm you're a real student (your school email).
- To keep The Hub safe — review reports and act on abuse.
Who can see it
Your name, profile, and active listings are visible to other signed-in students at your school. Your messages are visible to the person you're chatting with. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking.
Where it's stored
Your data is stored on our backend provider, Supabase, which processes it on our behalf. We don't store payment information because there are no in-app payments.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Settings → Delete account. This removes your account, listings, and messages.
Safety
You can report any listing or user, and block users so you no longer see them (or they you). We review reports and may remove content or remove users who break the rules.
Age
The Hub is intended for students at participating schools. If we learn we've collected data from someone who shouldn't be using it, we'll delete it.
